Belly Casts by Peggy
Belly Casting, like Henna, is a simply beautiful way to honor a Mother, Baby, and their pregnancy! A one-of-a-kind piece of art. When treated with care, a belly cast can easily become a family heirloom.
Casts are professionally made. The process is involved and requires gentle and creative hands. Making the initial cast can take 1.5 - 3 hours. When it is done is up to the Mother. They are typically done around 38-39 weeks...or later for the fullest baby belly possible!
After the cast is created, I lay it out to dry and check on it periodically making sure it retains its shape. After it is dry, I reinforce it with more plaster and make sure edges are rounded and elegant. It is then ready for sanding, priming, painting, and some holes are drilled for hanging. When it is complete, I use varnish to seal and protect it which adds extra depth and shimmer, as you can see from the photos!
The cast is then hung with ribbon and its ready for you to love for years to come!

Prices include materials, casting, and travel expenses. They can range anwhere from $55-400 based on what you want and the complexity of the design. There are a variety of options to fit every budget.
Examples of Options Include:
~Cast Only: Done in your home, I create your cast and you do the rest!
~"Belly-Only" or "Full-Body" (as seen in the photos and includes belly and breasts)
~Painting: Solid Color (like Ivory), Multi or Solid Color with Shimmer (like the bronze cast in photos), a Simple Painted Design based on your wishes (casts in photos are classified as 'simple' deisgns), a Complex painted design (this would include a design that covers much of the cast or entire belly), and Words painted or written on the inside or oustide.
~Hanging: A simple hanging with ribbon is complementary.

*Half or all of total payment is expected at time of casting.* Full payment is expected when cast is completed or before. However, if you would like to set up a payment plan, Im happy to discuss. Payment options include cash or Paypal. If you wish to pay with Paypal, I will set up a special listing for you. There is a $5 processing fee.**
